VR is recognized for its history of building large community parks.

This new 41-acre community park is the result of a partnership agreement between the developer Brookfield Lakin and the City of Avondale. Valley Rain was selected as the CMAR for the project using a public qualification-based selection process.

This will be the third large scale, Community Park in Avondale’s park and open space system. The park will serve as a central hub for the new 1100+-acre Alamar Community and will provide expansive outdoor recreation space and ample opportunities for all ages to connect with the great outdoors.

The core of the park is centered around a “great lawn” and will include an amphitheater, a 2.4-acre fishing and irrigation lake, pathways, playgrounds, a splash pad, 2 restroom buildings, 8 ramadas, baseball facilities, sport courts, soccer, a dog park and maintenance facilities. The landscape will reflect the natural beauty of the area and the rich history of the Lakin property. The project is kicking off with the installation of 1/4 mile of 27” irrigation pipe and ½ mile of 12” water supply pipeline that provides water from an existing well structure to the lake system.
