Tolleson Downtown Redevelopment

A New Sense of Place in Downtown Tolleson.

HARDSCAPE | PLACEMAKING

The Downtown Tolleson Redevelopment Project included improvements on Van Buren Street, from 91st Avenue to 96th Avenue to develop a destination environment with a true sense of place for the community. Improvements included bike lanes, widened sidewalks, tree-shaded sidewalks, signage, landscaping, lighting, street furnishings, and artwork in collaboration with West Valley Arts Council’s Gallery 37 Program. A central plaza provides a programmable floor fountain below a dramatic shade canopy with programmable lights. The roadway was entirely replaced and narrowed to provide room for expanded decorative walkways and on-street parking.

With confidence I submit this recommendation in favor of Valley Rain Construction Company….This project is complex and requires skill and experience in construction both inside and outside the curb lines. Dan Kuwitzky, as the manager of this project, has demonstrated the ability to work with the entire project team to keep this project ahead of schedule and within the project budget.  Dan has also proven to be very flexible and adaptable to ever changing needs of the project. Dan and Valley Rain Construction Company have made this very challenging and complex project appear to be easy.  This is a reflection of the experience and technical expertise that made Valley Rain our selected contractor for this project….It has been a pleasure working with Valley Rain Construction Company and it is my pleasure to provide my highest recommendation on their behalf.
